More of the Drums I have Sold

I have -- after 20 zestful years of drum making -- retired.
I am still making drums that interest me. If any are
available, they can be found by clicking here.

Buffalo Rawhide with Pegs and Antler Handle Top
This drum was sold to an individual in Arizona!
This is an egg-shaped Buffalo Rawhide Drum with some buffalo fur still on the drum skin. The hide is securely attached to the cedar drum frame with maple pegs. The handle is a "floating" Caribou Antler that is amazing to hold.

The sound, feel, and resonance of this drum are outstanding.
This is an 18-inch x 14.5-inch (46-cm x 37-cm) Egg-Shaped Drum. It comes with a drum mallet selected specifically for it.

Large Buffalo Drum
(20" diameter, plus extra lacing)
Large Buffalo Rawhide Drum Front

Large Buffalo Rawhide Drum Back
This drum was sold to an individual in Belgium!
This drum is made from a stronger and thicker buffalo hide. The drum is unique with 24 strands of lacing. I have not seen another like it.

This drum has a big sound! The extra lacing helps this drum handle varying humidity and temperatures, and it has a better tone in those conditions.

The drum head has a "flowing texture" with character and vibrancy. Nearly all the hide is a light tan color, which is perfect for painting your drumming journeys.
This is a 20-inch (51-cm) round drum. It comes with a drum mallet specifically selected to give it the best tone.

Deep Sweat Lodge Buffalo Drum

Deep Buffalo Sweat Lodge Drum Back
This drum was sold to an individual in Illinois!
Here is another drum from that amber-colored, strong buffalo rawhide for special projects.

This drum is extra deep, which gives it additional resonance. The taller drum frame also let me be a little whimsical with the side of the drum, and the scalloping shapes are varied. The lacing is unique with 18 strands.

This drum has been pulled tightly and does well in sweat lodges and humid climates.
This is a 16-inch (40-cm) round drum that is 4 inches (10 cm) deep. It comes with a buffalo leather drum mallet made specifically for it.

This small drum is a joy to hold with its Caribou Antler Handle.

The handle is attached to the rawhide with a unique system using artificial sinew.

This small drum is lightweight and travels easily in a suitcase.
This is a 16-inch x 12-inch (40-cm x 30-cm) Egg-Shaped Drum. It comes with a drum mallet made specifically for it.

Saami Drum Re-Creation
on a Remo Drum
Saami Drum Re-Creation Front

Saami Drum Re-Creation Back
This drum was sold to an individual in Texas!
The Northern European Saami people have a rich shamanic tradition. This is a re-creation/interpretation of one of their 300 year-old-drums. Each symbol has been meticulously reproduced.

The basic drum is a Remo, which is artificial, not rawhide. Weather and humidity do not affect its tone. This is an excellent travel drum.

The original, loose rope handle has been replaced with a single strand of easier-to-hold buffalo rawhide.
This is a 16-inch (40-cm) round drum. It comes with a drum mallet with an artificial bear fur head.
