Rawhide Rattle Kits

My first rattle was a great experiment. I had no instructions, just a rattle I had purchased and the stories I had heard. I also had a very nice piece of moose rawhide left over from making my first drum.

The long and short of it is that I did make a great rattle, and I have made hundreds of rattles since. You can make your own wonderful rattle, too.

Buffalo Rattle Made from Kit with Additional Materials

A talented artist made this rattle from one of my kits.

*Quartz Crystals are a traditional rattle filling in some societies. Quartz Crystal Rattles have a sharper, stronger sound. I import these single and double terminated quartz crystals from several countries.

**Anthill Stones are also a traditional rattle filling. Anthill Stone Rattles have a softer, gentler sound. I collected these stones from abandoned ant nests at the Posi ruins at Ojo Caliente, New Mexico.
