		Oval Shaman Drums Oval drums have a wonderful, unusual look. People are always attracted to them. I have made oval drums (and bowl drums, too) in several styles. I am very attracted to the Saami oval and bowl drums from northern Europe. Some 70 Saami drums have survived in museums for hundreds of years. They can be appreciated in two wonderfully illustrated German-language volumes of "Die Lappische Zaubertrommel," which translates as "The Magic Drums of the Lapps."
