Shaman Rattles with Cholla Cactus handles

Rattles with Cholla handles have a unique look and feel. The handles are lightweight and are lattice-like -- you can see light right through them.

Cholla is a spiny cactus. When it dies and the branches dry out, some of them are interesting enough to use with rattles. Each branch is cut, shaped, and strengthened for durability.

Cholla grows in the southwest United States. These branches were gifts from friends who live near the Arizona and New Mexico deserts.
